During the holidays, most of us look forward to the warmth and security of home. But for many vulnerable seniors, that sense of stability is at risk.
One client, Peter, knows about housing precarity first-hand. He came to us after his residence was demolished. He was staying in a shelter while coping with serious health issues. The stress and uncertainty made an already difficult situation even harder.
With the help of our housing navigation and temporary housing staff, Peter moved into a safe, fully furnished apartment while staff helped him overcome barriers and secure permanent housing. Today, he has the stability, dignity, and peace of mind that every senior deserves.
Through our Home for the Holidays campaign, our goal is to raise $80,000 to help vulnerable seniors like Peter access housing navigation and support services throughout the year so they can age in place.
When a senior’s housing is secure, everything changes. They can focus on their health, well-being, and connections with others instead of worrying about where they will live. Stable housing restores dignity, confidence, and hope.
