Message from Seniors Services Society on COVID-19 (new corona virus)

As a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and support the safety of clients, volunteers and our staff members, Seniors Services Society is temporarily closing our office and suspending in-person programs effective March 17, until further notice. We will continue to support our current clients as needed by phone, and we will maintain the day to day operations of the Society with our staff working remotely where possible.

Thank you for your understanding. We will be in touch with updates, and plans for re-opening. In the meantime, if you need us, please contact our office by phone at 604-520-6621 or info@seniorsservicessociety.ca, and we will return your message as soon as possible.

At this time, we once again encourage everyone to take care and adhere to suggested precautions as advised by B.C.’s health officials, including:

● Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
● Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands
● Avoid close contact with people who are sick
● Consider no longer shaking hands and instead, use another form of greeting/acknowledgement

The virus is thought to spread mainly between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet) through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. It also may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes, but this is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads.

Thank you for your attention to this important message.
