Get out your walking shoes! Our annual Walk of Ages fundraiser is set for Sunday, June 8 from 10 am to 12 noon at Mercer Stadium & Track (900 6th Street in New Westminster). Join us in raising critical funds to prevent seniors in our community from experiencing homelessness.
“This is the second year we’ve hosted the Walk of Ages, and we’ve moved it to Mercer Stadium to accommodate more people,” said SSSBC CEO Alison Silgardo. “We’ve got lots of fun planned… from a DJ spinning music while you walk the two- or four-kilometre route, to refreshments, and a 50/50 draw. There’s also a wheelchair and walker decoration station. Your registration fee includes a continental breakfast and goodie bag. I hope to see you there.”
Registration is $10/person or $30 for a family or team of four people. Check in starts at 9:15 am with the walk underway at 10 am rain or shine. This June 8th, step up for seniors! Sign up here today!
We’re holding a 50/50 draw in support of the Walk of Ages. Tickets are $10 for five, $25 for 50, or $50 for 200. Tickets are on sale and can be purchased online between now and midnight on June 8. The draw will be held on June 9.
SSSBC has been helping vulnerable seniors stay housed for over 40 years. We coordinate access for low-income elders to emergency, temporary and—ultimately—permanent housing. We work to prevent homelessness by providing a broad range of social, food security, transportation, and support services.
